Friends of the ARK
Wildlife Rehabilitation & Environmental Education
Friends of the ARK is dedicated to supporting the Amos Rehabilitation Keep (ARK) in Port Aransas — a wildlife rehabilitation center that cares for injured and cold-stunned animals along the Texas Gulf Coast. In 2025 alone, they donated over $110,000 to fund animal care, volunteer programs, and public education. Their work keeps sea turtles, shore birds, and coastal wildlife healthy.
What They Do
- Supports the Amos Rehabilitation Keep (ARK) wildlife hospital
- Rescued and rehabilitated sea turtles, pelicans, and shore birds
- Donated $110,000+ in 2025 for animal care supplies
- Partners with UT Marine Science Institute

Port Aransas Preservation & Historical Association (PAPHA)
Preserving Port Aransas History & Heritage
PAPHA is an all-volunteer organization with an outstanding record of preserving Port Aransas history, culture, and architecture. They operate the Port Aransas Museum and the Farley Boat Works — two beloved local landmarks that draw visitors from around the world. Their mission is to promote citizen interest in the town's unique coastal heritage.
What They Do
- Operates the Port Aransas Museum (opened 2008)
- Preserves and restores the historic Farley Boat Works
- Maintains historical records, artifacts, and documents
- Promotes heritage tourism and Old Town architectural standards

Port Aransas Art Center
Supporting Visual Arts Since 1995
The Port Aransas Art Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing quality art instruction, exhibitions, and community support since 1995. Founded by a group of local artists, the center is a gathering place for artists and art lovers — offering classes, gallery shows, and a welcoming space where fine art can be produced and enjoyed. It's a vital part of the creative culture that makes Port Aransas special.
